Can you afford to release your album on vinyl?

I work for a small vinyl pressing plant, our customers are mostly independent artists doing small-run pressings. My job is advising people on how it all works.

Here's a short thread outlining the very basic costs of pressing and releasing an album:

It's more than just a nightclub for me, it's a place completely embedded into my identity.

Without Adrian and Amanda, many of the things I've achieved in music may well not have happened. Platforms like Corsica *make* careers. Huge love forever for Corsica Studios.

Corsica Studios is beyond special to me.

I first played at their original North London location. After they moved to Elephant, I think I have promoted, DJ'd, played live, or just been a punter at well over 100 parties

I❤️Acid began at Corsica in 2007. Also I ran a bunch of 'Machine' parties there.

We only discovered it by accident

Usually don't really go looking at where customers go selling their records, but there was something off with their communication so I checked and found their website was not a label or artist, but a "press on demand" company front making all sorts of claims 🤦🤷‍♂️

By the way: It's very easy to work out if records are pressed compared to on-demand cut: pressed will have the cat. number in the runout groove and will be absolutely identical on each.

So, it's *not* Elastic Stage but there is a "vinyl on demand" service that are faking it, and actually pressing short runs with us then reselling them one by one to their customers. I suspect VC cash because they must be losing money doing it. Obviously I can't reveal customer confidentiality but 🤮🤮

Loads of extra minutes when chasing a goal, today hardly any whdn defending a lead. Gravenberch their best player who should really be on a ban for a straight red tackle he got away with earlier this season. I know it's not a conspiracy but Liverpool have been very lucky with decisions recently.
