Leftist Rabble. Mzansiite.

WDYM, 'fucking up?'
I'm not contantly fucking up, I'm demolishing the myth of white excellence.

From the inside.

"unintelligible pseudo intellectual" - fuzzybunny
I.... really like that.

Tomorrow i have to go and listen to Mozart and the Bolero. Both fine pieces, make no mistake, but THIS is imo what the CTO should be putting on their lists.

Page 42, line 2.

"Trompies. A kwaito classic."

[Naturally, there is no actual page number 42. You have to turn to page 43, then subtract one. Thats how you know its heavyweight literature.]

The metrics will support them.

Until it doesnt. Then, somehow, it will be OUR fault.

Jared Diamond

Vos not an SS Guard
He did not love Ilse Koch
He never shot a Luger
He thought Dachau was just a nice resort

With his new Israeli allies
He dances the I Was Not Nazi Polka

"Adolf who?
Should I know him? Is he a folk singer?"

You could have had them, but you, unlike *some* others, have the integrity not to turbot-charge your entry fee.

Good for you, I say.

He was not wrong so many times.

Everybody knows the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed

LOL yes!

I went there in 99 with a self published novel only to be told haughtily "We dont do that."

Then in 2017 i took a self pubbed poems and photos book to them. The wonderful Isobel looked through it just long enough to make sure there was ink on the pages and said "We will buy six."

Thats fine. Its a great way to get dismissed from any further work duty.

"Oh no! Its the footnote nineteen dude, quick! Look busy!"

P63

"Bakhtin rather disconcertingly observes that n world literature 'there are probably many works whose parodic nature has not even been suspected.' [Dialogue and the Novel, 374]"

I mean, i would rather read the original, but i'm hardly likely to pick that up at Clarkes for R95.
January 21, 2026 at 11:36 AM
Nah, its pretty good [i think. Its ALMOST within my reading level]. Its an interesting look at Bakhtin's quite anarchic ideas on the novel.

It just happens that p42 was the notes to the intro. Note 19 was also one of the few that didnt say anything.
January 21, 2026 at 11:30 AM
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU SPAMMING ADVERTISING ONTO THE TL

This is why anarchism fails. Theres always someone pushing their greed above the wider good isnt there?

The Moby Dick account never fails.
January 21, 2026 at 11:13 AM
OK i always swerve these but Pindar mentioned, so

"19 Leslie Fiedler, Foreword, Henry Roth, Call it Sleep, Cooper Publishers, New York, 1976."

Sue Vice,
Introducing Bakhtin.
