infinitely easier to deal with than the thought of being left again. Which is why chuuya was rightfully so upset when dazai came back, because now he has to deal with those feelings that he never thought he'd have because dazai *died*. But he didn't. And that's much scarier. ++

That is such a real thought process that resides all too well; in people with abandonment issues, the idea that someone we care about is more likely to die than leave us without a word is a freaky kind of comfort, and if someone *does* leave like that, grief is ++
