oof. I've moved quite a lot over the years with similar experiences and it's a measure of how vile it all is that my mind has blocked out most memories of the whole tedious, expensive, stressful business.

I signed an impressively terrifying agreement with (insert academic publisher here) that says I will be ritually flayed in the town square and my bleached bones displayed as a warning to others if I so much as show someone else my work without their permission. And then they flog it to Microsoft.

At school we were expected to take notes in every class which were then written up neatly, handed in and marked like homework. I am ancient but is that not a thing anymore?

Was it a fever dream or did I once read about a Do 335 or some other wonder weapon being examined after the war. The allied officers were horrified to find that the pilots leather headrest was stuffed with human hair.
