Organising an event?

Whatever the scale of the event, make sure there is a clear understanding within the organising team of who is responsible for safety matters.

Reminder: Where it is reasonably practicable to do so, employers must reduce noise exposure by means other than the provision of hearing protection, e.g. by:

- design changes to a process, component or machine

- segregating noisy machines from employees

- damping machine parts

Employers: It makes sense to consult and involve your workforce.

Your workers and their representatives know first-hand what the risks in the workplace are and can often suggest practical solutions to control them.
