Two things can be true at the same time. The nhs may well be under resourced, in which case we collectively need to think how best to use it. At the same time people can put pressure on decision makers to do something about that.

Maybe when you have a precious resource, use it wisely. A public service requires all of us to buy into collective responsibility. Searching for reasons to justify unreasonable behaviour is looking the wrong way.

100 per cent agree, there are so few interviews of politicians that are intended to provide the reader or listener with any insight. These gotcha questions just dumb the whole process down and feed this constant anger. Some of pompous responses from journalists are disappointing.

The MP is right to want to want more houses and asap, but it is misguided to think that dumping basic services is a solution. They are essential for stable communities. There are long-term consequences if you get it wrong. 1960s high rises? That provided volume - simple! Wonder why it failed?
