Just settling in for dinner: lentil mush, oven chips, and some plant-based sausages. Could I have ordered delivery? Yes. Could I have cooked something fresh? Also yes. But nothing says pragmatic policymaking like eating something that looks like a coalition government.

People keep saying the New York Times has “changed,” but honestly it’s just adapting. It’s primarily a gaming company now that happens to fund a news desk on the side. And that’s fine! The crossword and Wordle have done more to preserve democracy than most activists I know.
