I don’t think the broader US natural resource field will recover from the last 9 months. Colleague after colleague across agencies furloughed, fired, or targeted cancellation of all funding. Conservation is cooked folks but there’s still hope at the private, local and state levels.

20 years of managing wildlife in an urban area. It’s a combination of numbness but moving forward on improving habitat and solving human caused problems. Fix the dumpster, improve the road design so the losses stop etc

Helping out on the Kaw Valley Farm Tour this weekend at Compass Prairie Art Farm! Plenty of cut flowers, artists demos, food and prairie ecologists.

The local elementary school has an awesome community and PTA, but it doesn’t feel good when they raised over $40,000 for their fall fundraiser and the surrounding schools can’t. 80% of donations in our district go to schools with less than 20% free or reduced lunch. Zip code determines outcomes.
