i snuck into the new age shop in the mall and bought this “dragon egg” I still have on my altar, I wanted my home to BE that shop, i told my bible study i believed in faeries because the bible didn’t say they didn’t exist.

i smothered it for a long time, but i was also always this way lol

TO BE FAIR even in my evangelical house which mucked me up in other ways my parents never took away any of my mythology books, rarely policed my reading, always took me out into the breathless wonder of nature including midnight drives and excused school days to chase meteor showers

BF sent this meme to me and it’s so true. things I had taken away from me as a child bc I kept casting spells: eyeliner, note cards, matches (fair), poison bottle (rubbing alcohol, liquor, and sparkly nail polish to make it pretty), the clay candle holder from hobby lobby that i used as a cauldron

so really - don’t self medicate depression and adhd and it’s really so much better on the other side. Do talk to your friends and family. Dont smother yourself.

also both the rat incident and deer explosion are about the dangers of removing natural predators from
habitat.

was talking with my boss about adhd note apps today and how they’re a mess and mine are… but in a darker section that I don’t really talk about are notes I left myself when I used to get drunk and high every evening begging myself to be different the next day or admit to myself or anyone how i felt

if you are (and frankly even if you aren’t) a huge Scream fan like I am, I MUST recommend, fully frothy mouthed, Your Favorite Scary Movie by Ashley Cullins. i appreciate so much more what it did for horror at the time, the fans that go one to make movies, and Wed Craven himself.

i actually meal prepped this week to prepared for quarterly reporting- soup is lunch, breakfast is cinnamon, apple, pecan chia and oatmeal, and dinner is smoked pork, spicy butternut squash, black beans and lime rice.

realllly trying to remember that i once loved cooking and having meals ready

my granny-coded lunch, featuring homemade bone broth, homegrown herbs and veggies, but then also a bunch of canned goods bc my ass was not getting to the grocery store.

and I don’t know why but white beans and canned green beans just make it feel like something my grandma would make

two slices of toast with butter and cherry tomato halves, and a white bean and veggie soup next to my keyboard bc I am a good little cog

my mother once dehydrated chilis on a pan, even after washing that pan thoroughly it still made these dark chocolate cookies slightly spicy. it was the best batch she ever made and we’ve never been able to quite recreate the magic
