I love to go a wandering…
I’m getting over a bad bout of the flu. I have T1 diabetes and a compromised immune system. I was vaxxed, but we all know it’s bad out there. This is my 2nd dance w/the flu this season. Take my advice: Mask up. If you haven’t gotten the vaxx, get it. It could make it easier if you do catch it. 😷✌🏼

In times like these, writer @martinkuz.bsky.social urges Americans to summon their “inner Ukrainian,” to resist tyranny and to remember community. A great read.

Since everyone seems to want to talk about human rights and how important they are, here’s a Q&A I did with Jill Savitt, Pres and CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta.

While recovering from heart failure, Jeff Galloway learned that decades of using the run-walk-run method he popularized likely helped save his life. Now, he's determined to complete one more marathon.

Today I almost used the phrase “Hope is not a strategy” in my writing. I try so hard not to be cynical but it’s hard these days. Then I saw this. Glad I didn’t use that adage. I’m going to stay hopeful.

Zelensky, please just leave the Oval Office. Just walk out. He's not worth it.
February 28, 2025 at 6:17 PM
I'm really hoping Zelensky shows up in Washington tomorrow just to tell the president to his face that he has no intention at all of signing any agreement to share Ukraine's mineral wealth. I trust Zelensky knows that the president is a bad-faith actor, not deserving of any trust whatsoever.

I’m going on record as one American who is well aware that the current President of the U.S. is spouting lies about the war in Ukraine. Truth is truth no matter how often you repeat lies. 🇺🇦

Hey @itsajwillingham.bsky.social! Don’t be nervous. (Although, tbh, I rarely post anything either). A newsletter reader☀️

My grandson’s basketball team re: today’s tournament, said this morning, “I’m kind of nervous.” I channeled every manager, coach & athlete I ever interviewed during my sports writing days &told him not to underestimate his competition. Play the game in front of him. They’re currently leading 56-0. 🫣

I grew up going to DoD schools, some of the best schools in many of the communities we lived in, with outstanding teachers. The new defense secretary should brush up on the meaning of E Pluribus Unum if he thinks diversity harms unity in the military and in our nation.

Unpopular post alert:
The idea that anyone would cheer, applaud, “like,” or defend the murder of another human being is puzzling to me. I thought the people on this platform were different. (News flash to self: they’re not).
& the excuse, “but his company caused the death of others” doesn’t work.

@drmoore.bsky.social I thought your Top Ten Books List was 👍 I will use it to guide my future reading. I'm currently reading Louise Penny's latest mystery, The Grey Wolf. It resonates frighteningly with our times. I'm not done, and I'm told there's a twist.😬
