Illustrator. 🇮🇳
The burden of carving your own niche and making people care about it. Kinda exciting and utterly scary at the same time.

Unfortunately a lot of them while having "good intention" lack understanding or empathy for artist. I see this super commonly with younger artists on twitter, they are so passionate about everything but are not aware of how they state their thoughts.

So many of these 19th century painters were absolute demons (complimentary). Edwin Austin and Alma Tadema make me question everything.

You are one of my favorite character illustrator right now, hope things get better man.

Is why i say art illiteracy should be judged more because these morons say anything without shame. Also why i never believed when people said that introduction of image generation will make others interested to learn about actual art, like no!? people will become more ignorant. Screw em Tori.

I usually prefer doing that on discord, i have tried that before and i don't think it works well on social media, even turned out to be a bad experience once 😅 . Been super delicate with criticisms since and how i engage with it haha

Like these flopped so hard everywhere, even on generally smaller circles i post that i am not sure haha

ty!! i was trying to be very intentional of everything you mentioned, but i am not sure they really matter if they are not contributing to a unique voice. I think even most of the studies posted online are heavily stylized to give a certain identity, while my studies are me still trying to discover.

I am always hesitant to post these studies because of how boring they are. They are either super messy or these boring over-polished copies. I feel i learn a lot from but i don't think they are worth posting online.

It's not bad but it's nothing special either, just average and hence boring.

Exactly, he is disgustingly good, like he would paint wildest childlike paint strokes and instantly decide to paint certain sections with most subtle precision.

Thank you and Yup! Carolus was Sargent's teacher, though doing just one study of his work and i am already on the floor crying. They are def judging me and my digital tools from above 😅

Imo It does look like a crown because it feels like an extra outside thing placed on top of her and not a part of her that has transformed. Still a sick piece though.

It is painted so well that I can feel the frantic movement of that thing. Amazing!

Eventually 😅, I kinda have been on a cleaning duty of sorts and am really hoping to finally get to creating something original instead of just studies. 🤞

Looking at them all together like that i truly believe that, keep going Tori!

That's fair.

Dunno if paid courses count but I really liked Leslie's character design course over at Underpaint Academy. It's quite comprehensive.

Really appreciate the follow. It's pretty dead there and will prob take more time but hopefully i can get the train running on posting again, hopefully you too someday.

That's how i feel. Realizing that i never thought of what i'd want to say with my art beyond learning has been a revelation that i' m still struggling with.

Learning art has been extremely helpful to me but i have to put just as much effort to find my voice if i want to do this further.
