Here’s a close-up of the big cake. The 4yo cut out most of those shapes and was very proud of the design choices :)

And this one was my first attempt at a glazed nut topping…. Recipient doesn’t like marzipan and icing

This one was decorated by the 12yo, with no help whatsoever (sadly no boards of the right size in the local shop)

This year’s Christmas cakes are complete! The 4yo chose colours and design for the big round cake, and the ‘heart’ cake

I can tell it’s gonna be a productive day today since I have a research assistant on hand :)

Accidental ice cream: Frozen mango, frozen banana, in the food processor with a bit of milk and the kids think they’ve had a big treat :)

This one was for Wicked-themed party. Glinda tier is vanilla funfetti with white chocolate ganache; Elphaba tier is salted caramel with chocolate buttercream.

5 layers of white chocolate and raspberry, housing the requested ‘magical unicorn’. This is my first attempt at a ‘drip effect’ cake…. Fun if you want something a bit different!
