Hopefully even tho election fraud has been commited in 2016, 2020 and 2024 (but by the republicans, trump and forgein actors) i hope the blue wave will be big enough to wash all the bloodred off the map this november.

Tho now that i say it it needs a majority of both the electoral and popular vote to be a valid election.

I mean we took the cobbled up shit and put on a couple bandaids but it seems we put in a bandaid at the right places. I guess it also helps switzerland as a whole had only 8 million citizens but 26 cantons (states).

The funny thing is also the republicans call the democrats leftists. Here the democrats would be considered as right win and its left wing maybe in the middle. The republicans far right it would make the mustache man jealous.

Yeah, our far right party comes up with that each time they loose a referendum or initiative. Good thing switzerland does not just have two politicaö parties like the US but 5 Major ones and a couple minor ones. Tho the far right SVP got 29% of all votes last time we had elections...

Like i said the swiss constitution is modeled after the US one. What you call amenments we call Revisions. Changed on the consitition so it stays within the needs at the time.
Maybe its time the US does a total revision to its constitution after the era trump. Just so it cant be exploitet again.

A discussion of voter fraud by voting in diffrent cantons never came up. I get my election material always from the town i life in.
When i move today i need to report my new residence in 5 working days of my moving date and from then on material will come from the town i life in now.

I guess the diffrence is that in switzerland we have a reporting duty. Meaning the goverment on a federal or canton level knows where your residence is.

Like i said. The Swiss constitution is modeled after the US constitution. Elections and referendums (usually 3-4 times a year) are organized on a canton (Staate) level too.

The whole world asks themselfs why he even was allowerd to run as a convicted criminal. But it all makes sense when you think how difficult it is to even be able to vote and now they work on making it even more difficult....

And thats why he misused his presidential power to teach a woman who dared to educate him a lesson. Tho that is one of his least bad misuses of powers he commited.

And what he says was being mean to him was a mixture of bad english and trying to explain the so called "trade deficite" is actually his doing. US Citizens bought up a lot of gold all over the world and most of it is re minted in switzerland and exported to the US.

And once a year of those seven members a President is elected to represent the country. Not with exicutive powers as the US President. And funny enough Woman Trump was complaining aboit that swiss prime minister who was so mean to him is that President

We just made a couple changes to our goverment system. We do not elect a president. We only elect the Parliment and National Council (Senate) and they elect the federal council wich consists of 7 federal council members (ministers).

Also i never attended a vote i always voted by mail in ballots. So have my parents at least for all my life.
In Switzerland we have elections every 4 years. The swiss constitution is based on the US American one, switzerland is the sister republic of the US.
