Interested in football, mainly Scottish/ Celtic, Cycling, politics, history, geography, travel and culture. Generally left leaning but more pragmatist than idealist. Mainly want to have fun on here with proper non abusive discussion
Haha. More of this. Force them to talk about the elephant in the room or squirm to try and justify why they don't.

Also it looks a little like Farage may be close to his ceiling - Ed Davies just needs to get a bigger profile and the Lib Dems are well placed to massively gain traction.

Im a little surprised Angela Reynor has such high unfavorable polls. I know that there has been a campaign to destroy her recently but I always thought that she was quite popular in a way that her polling would be able to ride out her current issue.

This is great. The more defections that they get the more they look like the deplorable government that we just got rid of. They will never escape their catalogue of catastrophe

To be fair to BT sport they done a pretty good job as well but mainly as they had a team of Scottish football pundits who had a bit insight beyond the old firm.

I never realised this was an option. Not entirely sure what "Celtic" news blogs I would have left though if I started banishing them all for being click bait shite though

mICE - like rats only nore cowardly.

Can almost guarantee that there will be a surge of ICE raids in Democrat leaning areas of close elections in the mid terms. The whole structure is designed to capture power by any means necessary. It will be bare faced election tampering.

The rumour that I have heard is that Osman will sign in the 1st July as we have tio pay nore compensation if we do it before then and he is still under contract. Nygren is on holiday but will sign when officially and be there for the start if preseason, deal done just not officially announced.

Would be good to see this happen, for too long we have privatised profit and nationalised losses. investments can go up and down - these should be no different.

If the invasion stops it's a bit like the end of WW1 scenario for the Russians. Very dangerous situation for the Russian regime.

If the Ukraine war comes to an uneasy stalemate or frozen conflict a Belarusian annexation then becomes a convenient victory to celebrate. Realistically who is going to support Belarus to push back when all will be weary from Ukraine. They have no other meaningful allies to turn to.

Why did he want bit and probably all of Georgia, why is he questioning the sovereignty of the Baltic states, why is he proposing up the regime in Transnistria? It's all pretext for old fashioned imperialism. He has transitions ned to a war economy so what time do with that army once the war is over?
June 19, 2025 at 6:19 PM
I see him as being in a bit of a bind. As soon as the Ukraine war ends, assuming Putin is still in power, he will be looking for some sort of victory. Annexing Belarus seems like the obvious target. What happens to Luka in that scenario - off ramp might be a more favourable route for him.

One of the rare times in politics where the right thing to do is just to sit on the fence or drag your feet on everything to do with this. Advocate for peace, deescalation and for aid to to get into Gaza is the only right thing to do here. There are no good guys or moral high ground on any side here

It would be interesting to see what his response would be if the West offered him and his cronies diplomatic immunity if he swaps sides and a golden handshake to flip sides on the basis that he facilities open elections allows NATO troops to secure Belarus and resigns.

For a country that's so full of guns it almost amazing that nobody seems to have pulled one out in these things. Especially since it's "supposedly" dangerous criminals that they claim to be targeting.

Have you got the the pointing with their thumb to emphasise a point during speeches one yet? That's another typical weird thing we get here as well although both left and right are guilty of it. Once you notice it, it becomes quite annoyingly hard not to get irritated by it.

Google Tory stance. It was a thing the British Conservative party had for a while. Was some sort of body language coaching going horribly wrong.
June 13, 2025 at 1:37 PM
I genuinely don't think their leadership actually wants power. They want to perpetually campaign and complain. Grift and lien their pockets detached from any real consequence or responsibility.
June 13, 2025 at 1:15 PM
At what point does this reach the level that it's considered a terrorist campaign and treated as such by the authorities. It wouldn't be tolerated anywhere else in the UK and shouldn't be in NI either. If the authorities don't take action the the people eventually will and that will be much worse.
June 13, 2025 at 8:33 AM
You could apply this logic also to the SNP candidate. Their whole campaign seemed to be vote for us this is a two horse race with Reform in which they managed to come second and third. What actually is their offer to voters. An indy ref that won't come in the foreseeable, hardly enticing.

Unease is not justification for invasion and also what give Russia the right to mtry and dictate the foreign and security policies of other nations? All new NATO countries have joined to protect themselves specifically from Russian aggression.

Yeah it's became a thing for right wing political figures families to run interference on their behalf. Johnston had his dad and sister, Reece Mogg his sister, Trump his sons and so on. Never heard from family from the left except for Corbyns brother who is a liability. Funny that eh?

This is the key. We really need a psychological shift in this country where apprenticeship especially in STEM subject are viewed as equal to university. A work based learning model is also far more accessible financially and should be encouraged a lot more than it is.
