Maybe you could make them like TFP Predacons who happened to get new forms that happen to be Dinosaurs. That would let G1 Dinobots be their own thing while the BW Preds can still have dinosaur alt modes.

Bio: Jazz is one cool cat. Arguably Optimus Prime’s best friend- the two go way back, long before the war, when Jazz would play sweet rhythms at the same bar Orion Pax would go to after work. Not one for being argumentative, this sly bot rolls with the his can do attitude.
