It’s funny how people act like Kamala Harris died right after the election, and that if she had any substantial disagreements with what Trump was doing on Palestine she couldn’t just come out and say them.

She’s running.

Not at the rate they do now.

environment at all costs. Point 2) companies invest a TON into the development of AAA titles to the point that failures lead to the dissolving of entire studios. If they continue with this bad model it’s more likely to lead to another industry crash, which is bad for everyone.

I agree, but two points. It’s true that games used to be more expensive. They also used to be a much more niche interest, and the industry was much smaller. Going back to 90s levels of interest would be a catastrophe for the studios as they exist now, and they should avoid recreating that…

Of course, but we’ve seen with the $70 price increase, once break that taboo the studios view that as the new norm, as opposed to an exemption for truly high end titles.

Again though, GTA VI is a massive anomaly. Complete failures like Suicide Squad, Skull & Bones, & Forspoken are WAY more common.
October 25, 2025 at 2:27 PM
Agreed. That should be max $70 for triple A, and less for smaller titles. There’s a lot of evidence that if you increase the price further, less people will buy it and you make less money overall.

I read somewhere that Rockstar’s investors are projecting the game will sell more copies in the first year than there are gaming consoles currently in the wild. Even if GTA VI overcomes all of that it’s not a sustainable model.
October 25, 2025 at 2:22 PM
Ok, but that’s GTA VI. That’s one of one. For every GTA, you can find at least two attempts at making that kind of game that flopped. Also, there’s frankly a lot of evidence they spent so much money making GTA VI it’s not even guaranteed to be a success.
October 25, 2025 at 2:18 PM
There isn’t actually that much evidence the market is demanding hyper detailed games that cost a lot, and take half a decade to finish. Studios execs just decided that was the future on their own, and now that’s all that gets made by anyone except for the most successful gaming company, Nintendo.
October 25, 2025 at 3:44 AM
I’ve heard that had launch issues too, but that’s fair. Overall I still disagree for a lot of reasons, but to respond to your point about modern game development; that is largely a problem the companies have created themselves, and indulging in their price increases will only exacerbate the issue.

When was the last time a triple A game shipped finished?

You’re a Ukraine guy though why do you care about Nazi tattoos all of the sudden?
October 21, 2025 at 3:25 PM
Nope, you’re stuck backing the old fart again loser. Sorry.

It’s basically an unspoken, but widely understood fact that Dem politicians have zero real control over their own police departments.
