Super proud of my grad students @ashockney24.bsky.social and Kate Manges Douglas. They gave stellar presentations at #SICB2025 after just one semester of grad school!

@princetonvaughn.bsky.social’s awesome research!

I learned that Crested anoles in cities have longer toes than crested anoles in the forest #SICB2025 #DrawWhatYouLearned
A crested anole is dressed like Carrie Bradshaw with her toes hanging over the ends of her heels. She’s a lizard in the city!! The label says “crested anoles that live in the cities in Puerto Rico have longer toes than forest anoles” and she is labeled “crestie Bradshaw”

Everyone needs to see this 😂😂 🦎🦎

This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen 🤣

Now we’re learning about how lizards adapt to urban environments w/ @princetonvaughn.bsky.social!

Urban anoles- across multiple cities- have longer limbs! They can also handle higher temps because cities are hotter.

Princeton asks- are city lizards faster sprinters with those gams??

Excited to talk tomorrow at #SICB2025!!

Excited to talk about parallel adaptation to urban environments in anole lizards at #SICB2025 as part of the Cities as Natural Experiments Symposium! Swing by Marquis A Saturday at 9 and say hi! We'll talk about thermal performance, morphology, and kinematics, so be sure not to miss this!

I made a starter pack for anole biologists, but I need help populating it! Please comment if you'd like to be added and/or you have suggestions of people to add :)

Hi new Bluesky people. I study urban evolutionary ecology, catch lizards, run marathons, and have an awesome lab of amazing people at NYU!

Could I be added? Thanks!

Hi! I am new to bluesky and trying to find all my Twitter friends, and/or anyone who loves lizards, ecology, or conservation 🦎💚

Happy to be here (finally) 🥰

Hi everyone! Decided that since I’m over here now, I should introduce myself!
I am a PhD student in Shane Campbell-Staton’s lab studying how anole lizards are adapting to anthropogenic change.
I use genomics, functional morphology, and kinematics to study rapid parallel evolution!
