A week full of historical moments. 24 Naga delegates traveled to @pittriversmuseum.bsky.social to work with us to decide on the future care of 41 ancestral remains in the Museum’s care. Yesterday they made the Naga Oxford declaration on repatriation as part of a process of healing and wholeness.

In an ‘academic foresight’ piece I wrote for the Association of American Museums, I wrote a little on how @pittriversmuseum.bsky.social we work with our Naga colleagues to change our way of working towards prioritising cultural care and repair & repatriation

@astra.bsky.social I was so inspired by your and Leah HH book on Solidarity, that it’s become a central tenet of our thinking at the Pitt Rivers Museum (Oxford) about how ethnography museums might be part of the equation and redeemable.
Thank you
