I'll never get over how all of these companies folded like wet cardboard when a dim NYC real estate conman operating at a fourth grade reading level demanded they all be more sexist and racist (or at best hide their efforts to be kind and inclusive under a tarp)

having the power to decide who eats or not and who gets shelter or not is a lot of power and the christian right is extremely open about wanting to control and mold people. they are 100% in earnest about wanting the government out of any aid help; unqualified aid robs churches of that position

like, this has been the consistent position of right wing protestants since FDR; they have hated social welfare for a century. because they want to control who eats and sleeps inside through the church and gain power that way.
