What is rehabilitation? I have been asking this question for 44 years! My rewritten page asking this question gives my 2025 answer; significantly changed. rehabilitationmatters.com/what-is-reha...
Also, I have added a table of all related pages. #neurorehabilitation

What is rehabilitation. This page investigates why the answer is not easy but develops a clear description that is the basis of further detailed discussion.

Neuromuscular electrical stimulation for the post-stroke upper limb can reduce spasticity and muscle atrophy, and improve joint range and corticospinal system excitability. It's recommended in UK National Guidelines but not provided by NHS - why do patients have to buy their own £120 device?

It's great that stroke recovery is getting in the news www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... It does speak to our need to believe in the 'new' though. VNS targets those who should respond well to intensive standard movement training anyway. The science should maybe focus on those without finger movement?
