I’m not so sure dudes are killing themselves four times as often as women so just because they have to fold their underwear these days. I’m not saying pity men or anything, our problems are often of our own making, but performance of domestic labor doesn’t seem like the key explanatory variable here

That isn’t to say they did a perfect job with the reforms, but when I explained it to my conservative family everyone seemed to think tenure, as it exists here after these changes, was reasonable.

Personally, I see the tenure reforms made in GA as fairly reasonable. It weakened tenure by allowing for some mechanism (post-tenure review) to clear “dead wood”. It didn’t negate academic freedom as far as I can see, unless I’m missing something.

No to mention how the history only further supports the plain reading of the text. Trying to claim the 14th Amendment doesn’t grant birthright citizenship to almost anyone born here is devoid of any reasonable historical & textual evidence

I waited until it was free to watch before I saw the first one (Avatar) and remain absolutely dumbfounded that it was able to take in so much money. That and the fact that we have like 20 fast and furious movies making a billion dollars each has completely annihilated my faith in our future.

Counterpoint - people aged way faster in the 80s. Look at an old yearbook from 1987…those juniors/seniors in high school looked like people in their 30s today

Wrote this a few years ago….even with Trump back in power, I stand by this take. Trump might force a stop to the fighting, but to call the result peace would be absurd.
