The only way humans will defeat the Swarm of the Machines is with unpredictable eclecticism. The YTMusic data crawlers remain flummoxed, my annual roundup showing 1300+ artists from 37 countries. Personally, I’d describe my taste as “lyrical humanity” which the algorithms will never comprehend.

The amazing Palace Theater in #Hilo celebrates its’ 100-year anniversary this weekend! So glad we’ve been able to join the eclectic festivities. It’s not only a Hawaiian gem, but a world rarity as a functioning, vibrant movie palace from the Silent Era. Here’s hoping for another 100.

20 years ago, I made a kids sports TV pilot hosted by Muggsy Bogues. Never got bought, but I spent time w/a legit American hero. Not only is his sports legacy legendary, he’s also one of the best humans I’ve ever met. He has never, ever given up on anything or anyone in his life. Be like Muggsy.

Not sure how many folks know that Emily Post completed an early, arduous cross-country journey by motorcar in 1915, which she would chronicle in ‘By Motor to the Golden Gate’ before she launched her career in the etiquette arts. It’s a fun read.
