Proud misandrist and bureaucrat enthusiast. 🌈 You vill eat the bugs if I have anything to say about it.

Sorry if I come off as mean and right wing here, it’s just the nature of the website that there’s no right wingers to argue against.
Oh please, they had the opportunity to try stop all of this while leading to a better outcome in Gaza. It’s an objectively stupid decision they took, that made outcomes worse for everyone! They spent more of their efforts demoralising the Dem base then fighting trump. That partially enabled this!

And that sucks, shame on them! But I’m not gonna falsely smear all democrats of doing that and focus most of my energy on criticising them as leftists seem to do. You can criticise democrats, but your mindset never gives them credit and seems more angry at them then republicans
January 25, 2026 at 8:16 AM
Here is a prime example of leftists constantly falsely deriding democrats. 7 of the 213 voted for that bill! Utterly cancerous political faction who has only managed to weaken our side during a time of rising fascism.
January 25, 2026 at 8:02 AM
Not the position I would’ve taken but it’s somewhat understandable. Meanwhile leftists had a super easy dilemma in front of them and they chose wrong! At least they freed Palestine right? Right?
January 25, 2026 at 8:00 AM
Im sorry but the electorate doesn’t agree with you on every issue. Taking one position also alienates others, and Netanyahu would intensify his efforts to undermine the Biden administration in this scenario + the conflict between Harris and Biden wouldn’t be helpful either.
January 25, 2026 at 8:00 AM
Oh please, we’re partially in the situation that we are in now because a contingent of leftists couldn’t do proper threat assessment and constantly derided Kamala Harris for her stance on Gaza meanwhile letting Trump get off scott free. And look where we’re at now!
January 25, 2026 at 7:20 AM
Lying about the progressive policy was during the leadership bid, the general election campaign wasn’t progressive at all so that’s not really comparable
January 22, 2026 at 7:01 AM
While trump is certainly trying to end democracy he is still limited in what he can do. He couldn’t stop democrats from sweeping in the 2025 elections. Dismissing voting is just silly and counterproductive
January 9, 2026 at 6:11 AM
Does this have any effect or is it just like the votes for 16 thing where it’s technically illegal but nothing changes? Either way good news
December 17, 2025 at 12:10 AM
Well they did already (and we should be grateful instead of complaining they didn’t go far enough, especially in this political environment), and it would hurt them because it’s probably an unpopular position. Thus it would make them less likely to win so less likely to repeal the ban,
November 29, 2025 at 11:47 PM
It’s not like labour haven’t opposed the ban either - they have just done so in a more low key way.
November 29, 2025 at 11:36 PM
But a labour led government is going to be in some sort of governance arrangement with the Greens anyway, who would make reverting the ban a bottom line, so I don’t see what’s to gain by increasing the salience of an unpopular issue when the end result is going to be the same.
November 29, 2025 at 11:36 PM
Oh it absolutely shouldn’t be up for popular vote, the populace is inherently reactionary and evil. Youth should be able to access puberty blockers cross sex hormones. I’m just acknowledging the political realities of the situation. We all live in the same social media environment as those overseas
November 29, 2025 at 11:16 PM
…and it assumes that a plurality of Americans and Britons support access which is definitely not true based on most other polls in those countries, where only 20-30%ish support it.
November 29, 2025 at 11:06 PM
We see in this poll that support for hormone treatment in youth is lower then that 84% figure, though still is the majority opinion in New Zealand. I think this overestimates the support for this however, considering the situation has gotten so much worse since 2023…
November 29, 2025 at 11:05 PM
But that’s not the question. One can believe that you shouldn’t discriminate against trans people on the basis of them being trans - while also believing they shouldn’t have access to paediatric gender medicine. In fact that’s likely the plurality opinion unfortunately.
November 29, 2025 at 11:05 PM
Queen, she’s right
November 29, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Is it an easy win? Based on polling in other countries it’s probably quite an unpopular position. Why raise the salience when a labour led government with pressure from the greens would repeal these changes anyway, regardless on what labour campaigns on.
November 29, 2025 at 10:37 AM
amen, I love censorship as much as the next person, but if you want your censorship to be effective you have to let the site grow first by having a more open moderation policy so that enough people use it to shape public opinion!
November 16, 2025 at 6:15 AM
They can’t even work with themselves! Why is the onus on labour?
November 10, 2025 at 12:06 PM
The median voter hates TPM and is less inclined to vote labour if they are seen as associated. This is the right decision, he can just lie and work with them later anyway
November 10, 2025 at 12:04 PM
Would be nice if we had journalists who would, y’know, investigate

Glad Bluesky is doing ok enough to warrant them trollishly joining the site, to the chagrin of many annoying arch-centrists who are having their brains melted on Twitter
