We’ve been granted NOAA funds to help monitor obsolete navigational channels in Georgia. While it is not DOI, the goal is to help USACE monitor the close of these channels to restore fish and crustacean habitats. Healthy coastal systems = healthy human systems

My dog, Zoey, does this all the time. No stick? No problem! She’ll pick up a pine cone, cicada, sweet gum ball, other tree part name insert here…
Oh! Zoey will also stop and taste the flowers too…zinnias are especially tasty

I helped landowners collect estuarine community data in tidal creeks affected by a manmade obsolete navigational channel. NOAA flow-through funds supported us for 4 years! USACE used our data and are closing the cuts to restore the salt marshes
