Incidentally, this is an idea I wrote a grant application on in 2009 and one referee said would never work - they may have been right at the time, but 15 years of work later and we are in the right place to know how to understand these systems. Science can be slow....

I think it is an issue for assessment too. A year ago, an em dash was as rare as a rare thing and now they're everywhere. If there is one in your essay, questions will be asked...
