Well, that’s enough to get me to buy it. Despite only sometimes enjoying horror, I have never yet regretted picking up a book you’re excited enough about to gush publicly.

The things one can do when one’s father “retired” from forestry by buying ~23 acres of redwood forest to putter in. This came from the stump of a tree that had to be cut by the house a few years ago, and Mom asked the loggers to slab it rather than grind it up - impressive chainsaw work.

Those books were one of my primary escapes in High School, I read them so many times that I joined the Science Fiction Book Club when I graduated just to get copies of my own & not be tempted to take the school’s with me.
