It is wonderful and reflected how Françoise could explain the law to students in such an inspiring style. Then she would be off to train the military before discussing the most intricate aspects of international law with academics and the Foreign Office. She examined the law and set it in context

And that’s before anyone takes into account Art.31 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees on imposing penalties on people irregularly arriving and, especially, Art.34 on facilitating the naturalisation of refugees. This is not within the spirit and intendment of the 1951 Convention
