She/her. Tradeswoman, native plant aficionado and general chaotic gardener, shameless nerd for Animorphs and Star Trek, Minneapolis dweller who actually wants to live in a city
Also oops, that should have said *garbage* bins, not garage bins.

I'd remind St. Paul too but idk if they plow alleys yet.

Thanks for posting this! I wouldn't have known about it otherwise, and there was a ton of neat stuff by a ton of talented makers there.

Years ago I got some junk mail addressed to "The [mylastname] Household" and my then-boyfriend was genuinely upset. Still cackle thinking about it

I would like to know this too!

lol god that would suck. I don't think they could, since it would be loaded only from downloaded files, and not tied to your account. This is the site I found: www.bitrecover.com/blog/import-... I haven't tried it, no idea if it's legit/trustworthy, but at least it looks possible.

It looks like there's a tool to convert a Google Takeout file to a format Thunderbird can read. I think that's what you'd want?
November 22, 2025 at 8:08 PM
lol absolutely not. (Although I'm usually too lazy to rinse rice either)
November 21, 2025 at 5:06 AM
What!
November 21, 2025 at 4:37 AM
I'm so sorry you went through that. It's awful. No woman wants to be the one who complains, and men almost never stand up for them. I was threatened once and somehow the guys next to me, who also hated this dude, never heard a thing.

Whelp, this one hit a little close to home, on several fronts.

Totally normal, everything's fine

And I absolutely do not buy any argument that "actually plastic clothes are better for the environment" they are not, end of story.

Unfortunately I do still have a lot of synthetic clothes (especially for my construction job) but at least I'm trying?

Sadly that kind of thing is beyond my sewing abilities. I did find 100% cotton sheets at IKEA recently. Buy a lot of used stuff on eBay, but learned the hard way to pass unless they post a picture of the tag. There was a secondhand store in St. Paul that only sold natural fiber stuff, but it closed.
November 9, 2025 at 9:04 PM
I've been trying to buy natural fiber clothing, bedding etc for the last couple years (at least for my daily wear stuff) and it's such a god damn pain. Really important though, imo. Also I don't want to be breathing in all that plastic lint.

Ha, this was my first thought too.

It's one flavor.

Somehow nobody mentioned the one that has taken hours off of my life: it's "free rein," not "free reign"

It starts getting a skin on it fairly quickly, so the faster you can get a nice smooth finish and leave it alone, the better.

Some pros dip their finger in soapy water (dish soap is perfect) to help with the smoothing, but I never had any luck with that method.

Oh, they lie about the ease! It takes a while to get the hang of, and until then, it's infuriating. Whatever their time estimate is, quadruple it.

Best advice that I have is to try and get a feel for the caulk gun so that you're squeezing out juust enough for your finger to press into the corner.
October 20, 2025 at 2:27 AM
Silicone caulk should last for years. I never have luck with the tools myself, I just use a finger, but there are probably a million different sources of advice out there.
