Retired epidemiologist. Worked in global health for almost 50 years. Based in Melbourne, Australia with my two Coton de Tulear dogs. Associate Principal Research Fellow at the Burnet Institute. I stand with Gaza, Panama, Canada and Greenland.
I'm headed for the cheap seats again. I think that now-dead John Laws and now-indicted Alan Jones demonstrated the chasm between Melbourne and Sydney. Neither made it in Melbourne. Kyle and Jackie O continue the tradition, currently #8 in the ratings.

I was 16 when my mum burst into my room with the news of JFK's death. We were an Irish-Australian Catholic family and adored Jack. On 11 November 1975, I was driving down a hill in Kooyong when the news of the dismissal came from my car radio. I almost drove off the road.

I suspect we made the same choice on Line 3. See you in the cheap seats. Last night, my TV took me down memory lane, starting with JFK's murder on SBS. Then the Whitlam Dismissal on ABC. I have clear memories of both. Then, back to SBS for Watergate. Phew.

You're very consistent, Jenny. I'm outside at the tipple van. I see that Princess Anne is in Australia. I was in Somalia when she visited the northern city of Hargeisa. She actually had the RAF fly in her favourite bed from London.

I'll be joining you for a Moet. We can discuss the weird changes in Aus politics since 2020. Nats have condemned their voters to more droughts, floods, and fires. The Libs are digging their grave. One Nation is polling higher than the Greens. Labor stays united.

I'll be downstairs in the Executive Suite. I just finished the Netflix series Pine Gap. Quite a lot in common with a House of Dynamite w/o the ending. It makes clear that if China and the US go to war, Pine Gap and Alice Springs will be a target.

I've bounced back from off the grid and will see you in the Penthouse. The final episode of End Game was excellent. Tony Armstrong offered concrete strategies to reduce racism in sport based on what he'd seen overseas. Let's hope they work.

Correct. Trump also doesn't want to know about UAE giving arms to the genocidaires in Sudan because UAE is enriching him and his family. And now he wants to invade Nigeria to protect Christians. What a world.

I failed badly and have been expelled from the grounds. We learned on Four Corners last night that Australia sells zirconium to China, which then sells it on to Russia, which uses it to make supersonic missiles that kill Ukrainian kids. FFS.

I'm in my default place in the cheap seats. The Nationals have dug a deep trench between urban and rural voters. Do the maths guys, 85% of Aussies live in cities. The Coalition is heading for electoral oblivion.

After a long time, I'll join you for a Moet. The latest news from Sudan is alarming. The rebel RSF is targeting civilians with black skin and killing them. Surely the US, China and Russia could agree on a UNSC Chapter 7 resolution to stop this genocide by force.

My luck turned today, I'm back in the clubhouse. Last night's reprise of the Cronulla riots on ABC TV shocked me. Of course, I remember it, but the violent images and sheer scale were shocking. Sutherland Shire is a stain on the country. As is Alan Jones.
