I feel similarly. Been using Mac for work and I like the feel, but hate the price premium and closed hardware ecosystem for home use so I likely am being forced into switching to Linux.

Billionaires can't do that. They're not equipped.

I do not. There are certainly groups here who are doing dumb shit, but the country as a whole are doing the right thing. Remember that For Women Scotland brought that lawsuit against the government. The government was otherwise trying to do the right thing.

The utility they are being hyped for is massively overblown.

In the case of code generation, they produce more code faster, but they produce the problem of need to review that code by a human, which is getting ignored. If the code is actually reviewed as it should, I think the code gen is net loss.

This is one of the few things that could reasonably get me to consider moving back from Scotland. Probably not enough, but it would at least put it on the table.
