The huge fail of the MSM in covering Trump is a fascinating one. I get that the threats, explicit & implicit, play a role. There's the effect of "groupthink" & going along with colleagues. There's doing what you need to do in order to keep one's job. But the moral & professional betrayal remains.

Thank you for the detailed email. My advice for Senate Dems: dump Schumer.

Kaine: "everybody will get to see who is standing for them when it comes to lowering their healthcare costs." Yep, and you're not one of them!
November 10, 2025 at 7:08 PM
Yes, a good take. What is also a positive is that it exposed the wimps like Kaine & Fetterman: they have to go when their terms are up. Plus Schumer, who orchestrated this: AOC should primary him.
November 10, 2025 at 3:31 PM
People shouldn't be misled by Schumer's "No." What's most likely is that he's fine with the deal; he might have even orchestrated it behind the scenes. The other possibility is that he just doesn't have his caucus. Either way, AOC should primary him in '28.
November 10, 2025 at 3:54 AM
Of course planned, or at least supported by Schumer. AOC should primary him in '28: she'll win.
November 10, 2025 at 3:14 AM
And Schumer, who is letting it happen.

Among those who caved, the useless Tim Kaine. Terrible head of the DNC for a time, terrible candidate for VP. Milquetoast will be his epitaph.
November 10, 2025 at 3:01 AM
Kaine showed he was useless when he headed the DNC. Big big mistake by Obama.

The last free & fair election had the Nazis somewhere in the upper 30s. Hitler – and he did describe himself as a gambler – played his hand very well; those at the table with him folded way too early.

The Mafia way was also the Mussolini Blackshirt way, threatening, terrorizing, & killing those who crossed them. Trump's unofficial Blackshirts are already at numbers one & two. Trump himself has fantasized about number three.

I hope that this is the end of her political career. This failed run for gov should finish her off.
November 7, 2025 at 5:14 PM
I've been rooting for the 30s for months . . . We're almost there!
November 7, 2025 at 3:38 PM
The two-thirds of the country that's Never Trump can swamp him and drown the GOP in '26 and '28.

Calling on Banksy!

In fact she wastes her time reading her comments feed and cutting people like me who made a comment to a commenter's post. With that said, her fight is my fight and I admire what she does.
November 6, 2025 at 8:56 PM
When did journalism move from "facts" to "opinions"? Considering just the world of the MSM, this noble profession has become a joke (as the NYTimes Pitchbot shows us every day!).
November 6, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Yes, Marcy Wheeler has been a defender of Garland for years. An indefatigable researcher. But sometimes she's wrong. And if anyone criticizes her re Garland or even disagrees with some other Wheeler opinion anywhere in a string of comments on her Bluesky feed, the ax falls.
November 6, 2025 at 2:13 AM
That there are problems like this every day is an indubitable sign that the NYT has something rotten at its core.
November 5, 2025 at 10:47 PM
I'm wondering whether pollsters need to adjust their filters again and lower just a tad the "Trump effect" that was evident in 2016 and 2024.
November 5, 2025 at 9:09 PM
The great thing about being a pundit is that you never have to say "I was wrong." All that is required is continued punditry.

Is there a School for Lying?
November 5, 2025 at 4:54 PM
There was more than a hint of "fascisization" during the term of Bush II; Cheney was part of that. But the "bad guy" became good again, dumping on Trump, & for that he deserves credit.

Ignore Schwarzenegger. Follow Obama's advice. YES on 50!

Ezra Klein "ezra kleining." What he doesn't get –but how is this possible??? – is that Republicans refuse to work with Dems. They love division because it works for them. But there is no downside for them because inside-the-Beltway pundits like Klein & the MSM let them get away with it.
