Hope Nwaneri picks that up in Marseille as he has the technical ability for sure to grow into the Odegaard role.

I was actually thinking of Smith-Rowe before clicking on the column - do you think he could not make it here because of injuries, consistent performances or lack of intensity (which Arteta seemed to openly bring up in interviews)?
My feeling was that Mikel expects more “intensity” from a CAM.

Should’ve been tbh - anyways, nice relaxing end to the game.

Forest has 11 points from 11 home games.

Of course bad luck, missed chances, etc happens and it did happen with the Invincibles as well, but when looking at the stats it’s visible that even after signing Madueke/Eze/Gyok we need set pieces to open the game up at a draw gamestate. This feels like a bigger issue than a one-off bad game.

Fair point. My argument is that if the 17th placed team gets its first choice defense back, it shouldn’t be a significant problem for a team that has trophy aspirations. Yes, playing against a 2nd line would be favourable, but at the end of the day we should have enough firepower to break them down.

I really appreciate Tim’s ability to keep his calm, but he is being generous with mentioning that e.g. the opposition had their first choice GK available. So what? We have an almost full starting 11, with almost all the summer signings available. Did we mess up the summer transfers then?

I never argued those, but finding an excuse for every bad performance is misleading in my opinion. Acknowledging we are not good enough in attack from open plays this season doesn’t contradict that I still think the team does many things well.

@arseblog.com @gunnerblog.bsky.social what is your opinion on this? I believe we sacrifise a lot with building up slow and safe, hitting through balls faster would result in more turnovers but the opportunities would be much more favourable.

This season it feels like 75% of our wins came from set piece actions at a draw gamestate. If we cannot score a set piece goal we seem unable to create openings. We bought flairs attackers but can’t seem to integrate them into the team appropriately.

Forest is 17th in the league, we still should be playing better tbh.
January 17, 2026 at 7:50 PM
We need to put Merino up front, he would be needed to drop deep and help us keep the ball better in the final third.
January 17, 2026 at 6:39 PM
Saka sits 7th for XG+XA, but is that with corners included right? He is whipping them in with ridiculously high consistency, but isn’t his open play game a concern? I hope his hamstring injury didn’t affect him negatively.

Eze for Gyokeres maybe?

Those who think this is a needless leak: do you really think Aston Villa would not know about this already, if a journalist does?
December 30, 2025 at 4:35 PM
1. It’s an easy narrative, Arsenal came second 3 times in a row, twice from winning position.
2. Arsenal fans are easy engagement bait.

Team is simply very tired. I think this defense is not bad at all, even if its makeshift, but they are mentally exhasusted I guess, as they had so much going on recently.

Hi Guys,
Why do you think the following players are overlooked this season so far: Nwaneri, White and Norgaard
Personally I’m afraid that if we don’t let Norgaard adapt now, we might get into an uncomfortable situation later in the season.
November 30, 2025 at 11:35 PM
We conceded due to losing an 50/50. You cannot have Merino everywhere on the pitch, this helps us marginally but the main objective of a game is to create goalscoring opportunities.

Rice needs two progressive and creative passers in midfield next to him, otherwise it’s just not working.
September 16, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Last 2 years we played Zinchenko, Calafiori, MLS, Tierney, Kiwior, sometimes Timber, Tomiyasu there. Now we sign a 8th player. I mean, the running joke is on point, isnt it?
August 26, 2025 at 8:28 PM
We seem nervous, both on and off the ball, hopefully it can be corrected at half time.

What a non issue

Thank you @arseblog.com for being so morally impeccable and clear on what has been a terrible reflection on the club we love.
Why the contract extention was even considered is so frustrating….
July 5, 2025 at 4:03 PM
That’s also true, I accept that.
