I just finished one today that gave me buddie as hockey players vibes but I didn’t like the end as much as I wanted or else I’d suggest it.

lol totally understandable. I didn’t read book 1 and probably won’t since I like when both MCs are hockey players. Also I don’t like insta love. I did enjoy heated rivalry more than I thought though once I got through the first 40%.

Love that you're doing this because I too am doing this. I finished Heated Rivalry on Friday and decided to re-listen to the end again because I loved the cottage so much.

I didn't listen to the first book though, but I'm starting The Long Game this week AND binging the show once it's all out.

Yeah most books have writer characters which is frustrating cause like not everyone is a writer. It what bugs me the most is how easy they make it sound to be a writer when it can be endlessly frustrating

lol I know exactly what you mean. I read this book with a writer character who I hated but didn’t realize it until the end of the book. I was so annoyed I spent so much time reading it.

Yes!! Completely agree! Most of the books I buy are books I know I like or have read already and want to have on hand to read again. Or nonfiction because I love non fiction.

lol exactly! Except I tend to be angry the entire way through and can’t figure out why I’m so irritated.

Oh yeah a mystery thriller takes time to get invested. Plus you have to learn all the characters and the backstory.

The books I continued all the way through that I should’ve DNF’d I become irrationally angry at everything about it. But I also keep wondering when something will happen.

lol the first 1-5 pages is so admirable!! That’s like next level.

I love that you have to get through so many hurdles before you DNF. Not having an interesting plot is probably my number one DNF reason. And If I don’t like the main character then I can’t read it at all. I have to atleast find them interesting on some level.
