The slur is, at the very least, distracting and annoying. Like "Money for Nothing", I'm aware that it's the character saying it, and it wouldn't faze me reading it in a book, but hearing it at the mall or on daytime radio with my kids would be quite jarring.

On one hand, I guess it shows you're not overly attached to the past (especially when greatest successes are behind you), with a bit of carnival-barker "You ain't seen NOTHIN' yet!" hype. I always find it a bit sad, though, like praising your youngest child, using their older siblings for contrast.
