not mechanically inclined but messed with a mechanism until i got a 4 bit binary function

A 4 bit binary function mechanism in openscad. it has 4 blue sliders which operate green lever wheels on 4 different z levels. each lever wheel has a pin that engages the blue slider along y and moves a subsequent mechanism with one less bit along x. the total effect is that each position of the blue sliders leads to a unique position of the mechanism. a side view of a mechanism implementing a 4 bit binary function in openscad, looked at from the side. a top view of a mechanism implementing a 4 bit binary function in openscad showing a top view where there's a window showing 1 binary pattern out of 16. a different one is selected by each unique position of 4 blue sliders.
