russia is a mafia state. Its run by goons. He is just a rich gopnik among others. What he is really asking is: "do you have a cig? Give me the pack! Got money? Give me the wallet!"

I don't know how the writer pitched the joke or the editor found it funny. The audience seemed to agree on that also. The amount of strength combined with suffering in Ukraine is not understandable to many. I hope it stays that way, and that Ukraine lives while russia (no capital R) falls apart.
