5️⃣ Multivariate analysis shows that Republicans & those who say immigration is a critical issue are twice as likely as their counterparts to support Trump’s immigration agenda, while Americans who are concerned about paying for basic living expenses over the next year are less likely to support it
December 9, 2025 at 9:32 PM
4️⃣ Just one in three Americans of color expresses confidence in ICE compared with half of white Americans. Americans who live in border states (36%) are significantly less likely than those who live elsewhere (44%) to have confidence in ICE.

3️⃣ A slim majority of Americans say that increased funding for ICE efforts to arrest, detain, and deport undocumented immigrants goes too far, compared with one-third who say it seems about right and 12% who say it hasn't gone far enough. *There's a 70-point gap on this between Dems and Republicans*

2️⃣ Additionally, by using a new comprehensive scale that measures support for eight of Trump’s immigration measures, the report finds that only three in ten Americans favor Trump’s immigration agenda, while two-thirds of Americans oppose it.

1️⃣ Since March 2025, support for Trump’s handling of immigration has decreased across the board among Republicans, Democrats, and independents, but the steepest decline in the past few months can be seen among independents (11 points).
