I want to thank him for posting on this site, but I don't want to be the grandma passive aggressively thanking their grand kid for visiting, even infrequently.

All fair, but the main point of my comment was that neighborhood bike stores generally cater to people with a lot of disposable income. We need bike stores to cater to a broader clientele. That Walmart kid bike is ubiquitous and it isn’t realistic or helpful to bike culture to turn one’s nose at it.

Ok, but using bike shops as the example is demoralizing. I can’t afford neighborhood bike shops, and they don’t want my business. They want to upsell expensive things to gear head men without kids, not fix the $100 Walmart kid bike of a single parent household. Give me an example I can relate to….

Thousands of parents try, twice, thrice a year to register their kids for DPR swim and most are left out, even if they’re logged in and waiting when registrations go live (ie obsessed) because there are far far too few slots for kids. Those HS pools need to load up with kids classes. Is DPR on bsky?

I've observed two conditions for approval of pedestrian or cyclist safety improvements:
1. Pair it with an *increase in parking spots* (see Park View protected bike lanes), OR
2. Note one or more pedestrian fatalities (see Georgia Ave well North of the metro).

Both confuse me very much, outside of the quality of their commentary. Molly because I never saw her in the same room as Kate McKinnon, and George because I don't know whether he still lives under the same roof as that other person.

I wonder if every 4 years there's a 30% drop in viewership for the network favored by the losing party.
We probably can't compare total YT video views to 1 demographic segment's live TV viewership, when the news network also has an app, a site, a YT channel, a Sirius channel, cable on-demand, etc.

What I've heard from everyone who's been there is that the indoor pool is infuriatingly tiny, about the size of that fountain.
Next time someone demands an indoor pool as a condition for development, they need to stipulate minimum size.
