This painting is an homage to my grandmother and my mom who loved to fish. They always caught the biggest fish. I, however, hated fishing and hunting. The real challenge in this painting was that I was terribly nervous to start it, because I wanted to render it perfectly.

I started this painting about a week ago. It required a lot of intricate sketching. I began with the idea of a soft pastel palette. Clearly this painting evolved into something incredibly different. I am so please with the outcome.
