There's a book series and tabletop RPG called 'Vurt,' I don't know what it's actually about but in my head these words are all the character classes

What if at your local gaming store there's a munchkin who always wants to play as an Omnivurt. So OP

Wait, what? The disks had all this extra resolution that no-one ever saw??

Somewhere in a filing cabinet there's one of these but it's a cat's dick

It's afraid

It's a reference to this tweet I think

So gravestones are sometimes arranged like the names on movie posters? Interesting

The po-faced pedantic response juxtaposed with the posts immediately confronting you in their timeline has me fucking dying

Data centres work like Tiddalik the frog

(* Tiddalik the frog drinking all the water is an Australian Aboriginal creation myth that's often told as a children's story)

Ah, found it

Tangent sorry but does anyone know where the ",, hello" meme comes from? It's one of many things that's now impossible to Google because quotes get ignored if it doesn't feel like recognising them

I don't know about undermining anything but it's 'all according to keikaku' if there were no footnote for what keikaku means and Japanese was an entirely fictional language invented by the western animator

I have one of these though I still use a regular one for the little areas it misses

If I ever owned something like that to use at the table I would be so nervous about chipping one that every mini would be encased in one of these with the base replaced by the container cap

Nice. I'm not too familiar with Leicas so I didn't think of that. I am carrying some Portra 400 right now - it's going in the work fridge so I can use it as soon as my Mamiya 6 gets delivered there!

Probably, but personally I've taken to carrying one small camera that has a good light meter, and then the other can be whatever old camera I feel like using as I can use the same settings. This Minox is smaller than most of my light meters

Traveller is one of my top games also. It's been a while but I still have ship plans I drew up in an Excel spreadsheet

Lewisohn is fantastic, some say it's a bit of a dry read but I was into it all the way through. That era was never one I was into either

For the other end of the timeline, 'You Never Give Me Your Money' by Doggett is also good

(All these from the most recent deep dive when 'Get Back' came out)

Tape to Tape is an arcade-style hockey game that's supposed to be good tapetotapegame.com

I love Super Mega Baseball! I wish there was an equivalent cricket game but all we have is Big Bash Boom

It's a good book to flick through between overs!
December 17, 2023 at 5:13 AM
It really takes over huh. Worst part is there are many books to accompany the temporary obsession, you can't just listen and be done (all these from when Get Back came out)
