I dont know about Widget but Hammerman was weird. Mostly in that it was MC Hammer who became a superhero with some magic dance shoes.

Hammer also voiced himself and did live-action bits

I think its how hes able to poke and prod at the Bond mythos in a way his contemporaries couldn't do. Like no one else would make a Bond film that calls him an old dinosaur or a blunt instrument or obsolete or the like.
