Into the Zone poster. The exhibition’s title refers to the hugely influential film Stalker (Dir. Andrei Tarkovsky 1979, USSR), which was released in the UK 45 years ago. The film features a mysterious, guarded Zone, an edgeland where nothing is quite what it seems, and follows a guide and two clients as they enter and try to navigate the Zone. Limehouse Reach, London, December 2021. Dark stakes and seaworn poles emerge from a foreshore covered in rubble. In the distance, the skyscrapers of Docklands catch the light.
