From this Thursday, there will be changes to how buses move in and out of Woden Temp Interchange. This is because of final works at the new interchange, due to open Dec 2025.

More details in link below, platforms and timetables remain the same.

That's a lot better! Thanks @Transport_CBR for taking our feedback on board!

London Circuit East opens to vehicle traffic (including buses) on Sunday! Footpaths and bikepaths to open in the coming weeks.

Fingers crossed it improves bus times and reliability.

More Woden changes, in one last big push until the new interchange opens in August 2025.

With closures to Callam St from May, buses will be going round the long way. @Transport_CBR advises we won't need further timetable changes, but PTCBR will be keeping an eye on things.

Right now people are planning their journeys to the Lake and New Acton, thinking this bus stop is still operational. @Transport_CBR needs to urgently update MyWay+ and the journey planner to reflect that the bus stop is closed.

Anti-trammers: We must not burden our grandkids with light rail!

Also, credit to "The Tramcars that ate Canberra", which manages to combine "The Cars that ate Paris" and "The Monster that ate Canberra".

For those who don't remember, the Cross of Trams is some of the finest religious art of the 21st century.

About once a year, CityNews's light rail neurosis boils over into psychosis, and we get amazing cover art like this.

A good time was had by all on the first Fantastic Bus Trips of Canberra for 2025, yesterday.

If you'd like to build confidence in using PT join the next bus trip on 7 March: City-Woden- Parkes-City. Limited spots so book early. More info or booking at [email protected]

And for those asking, here's the SA map. Remember, we want a real map based on regional services going to Canberra. Save your fantasy maps for another time.

Heads up if you're catching a NSW Trainlink or Greyhound coach out of Civic: the West Row stop has relocated to Alinga St West, near the corner of Marcus Clarke St, opposite No Name Lane.

We don't even have operational vending machines yet!

Great letter in the Canberra Times about the history of light rail naysayers, how they were wrong then, and wrong now. Let's get on with it!

January 4, 2025 at 2:28 AM
This letter to the Canberra Times sums up the state of affairs with MyWay+. It won't be good enough until everyone can pay a valid fare in a matter of seconds, and everyone expects that to happen.

Happy new year to the PTCBR community!

Thank you for all your support this past year. 2025 will be even bigger for public transport in the ACT, and we can't wait!

And a big shout out to everyone keeping our bus and light rail network running tonight.

For some reason the new battery LRVs have "GGN" or "ALG" codes on their displays, which can be confusing for passengers. Wouldn't it be better if it just had the R1 route number like our buses do?

Whether you're going by light rail, bus, active travel or sleigh, PTCBR wishes you all a very happy Christmas.

The new MyWay+ "real-time" information is actively misleading. This shot tells you the R5 is 2 minutes away from Albert Hall, but in truth it already left 11 minutes ago.

@Transport_CBR needs to switch off this feature so passengers don't rely on wrong info and miss their bus
December 21, 2024 at 12:13 AM
It's kind of here! MyWay+ app is showing *some* buses with real time information.

No word on when the info will trickle its way to @NextThere and @AnyTripAU

These aren't just nice things to have. A lot of Canberrans need them to use public transport, and should have been ready on Day 1. They're also requirements under the MyWay+ contract. Unfortunately we understand Transport Canberra hasn't committed to a timeline for fixing it yet.

But it's not just the app which doesn't meet standards. The on-board passenger information doesn't have audio annoucements yet, and the screens are hard to read from many parts of the bus.

By now everyone has discovered their MyWay+ balance has zeroed out. Don't panic, it's not just you.
