I'm enjoying reading "Shroud" by @aptshadow.bsky.social ... pleased to see it has an L2-type #SpaceElevator, as described in some of my recent @isecdotorg.bsky.social newsletter articles !

( OK, I described L1-type, they're shorter, but not suitable for Shroud ... but maybe later in the book ! )

Just finished reading "The Every" by Dave Eggers.
A Dystopian near-future : will our new tech and apps really improve us and the planet, with control in the hands of algorithms not politicians ? Do we all really want everything to be so much better ? Can an individual make a difference ?

After Mars I covered Jupiter, Saturn and their moons. For those I'm negative or neutral, except for Enceladus and Titan ... they will be covered in 2025 newsletters.

Readers of the @isecdotorg.bsky.social newsletter may have noticed my series of articles in 2024 on 'Solar System #SpaceElevators', meaning away from Earth.
Most are negative or neutral (incl the Moon), but Mars appears quite feasible. Here's the intro and conclusions of Part 2 of my Mars article..
