thanks. I’m getting tons of material from Archive.org. Another aspect of my project is public domain works made freely available in plain text. Some historical societies are setting up paywalls or attribution-walls as if they had something to do with the creation of the text. Part of the problem.

With my specs, I’m trying to show what was appropriate for a pastor to say in the past (and from freely available, public domain sources). So her hub was a pastor. Will look for stuff from him. In some ways this sounds less noble, but it’s my drive for the project

And I do have a few, including Howard, but if any names you can think of, let me know and I‘ll look in the archives for interesting quotes.

One of my favorite quotes, somewhere in the stack, is of a preacher who visited a prison ship, and snuck out a piece of moldy bread as evidence in a hearing. Might be this same guy.
