A variety show of creative experiments mixing art, music, programming, and more.
Doodle I made last evening. Fountain pen and hole punch on blank playing card.

I started by drawing the flame shape. However, the end result looks more like a zebra haworthiopsis (succulent plant).

Somehow I've never thought to make myself a bookmark before! Obviously I have to start with my signature abstract coral shapes.

Music trading card - "Microwaving Popcorn"

This was me remixing kitchen sounds into a 30 second jam.

I saw this on a bag of Chex Mix and felt that this is something that needed to be done 😆

Another abstract doodle. Fountain pen and squiggle scissors.

I like the vine pattern I turned into lil' eyes. Might use that again.

The previous drawing inspired a new monogram design! Went for a cropped look.

I want to keep my monogram logo ever-evolving to capture how my art style is about creative experiments.

I like how this fountain pen doodle turned out!

I took my usual coral pattern and tried flattening it out on the edges. Halfway through, I realized it would look nice if I extended the straight lines to make the frame.

For something different, today's doodles use fountain pens and... hole punch!?!!

Put some of my doodles from September and October into my binder!

This is a big reason why I draw at trading card size - it's so cool to see this binder fill up with hundreds of art experiments!

I edited several 3D stereo photos of plants I took this summer and early fall! To see it in 3D, cross your eyes so the red dots line up.

On my website, there are many more 3D photos, and you can switch between a few different 3D stereogram formats.

Abstract tangle and diagrams breaking down the structure. My doodles often work like this - patterns nested inside patterns.

Knitted a new coaster for my teacup!

I dug deeper into the math of squashing a sliceform sculpture flat. I made this interactive Desmos graph to illustrate how it works!

No matter where you hold the shape, it stretches along one grid diagonal, and shrinks along the other!

I had found these tabletop sign holders at the Resource Exchange in Philly. I realized they would be perfect for turning my trading card sized art into standees of sorts!

🎵 Ghost of a Canceled Train

I'm trying something new. I'm making short 30 sec loops of music, and adding a visual to go with it.

Another doodle on the watercolor cards. I was imagining triangular eyes. One of my friends pointed out it also looks like a bunch of fingers.

Abstract doodles and a bit of calligraphy. Kewpie mayo on okonomiyaki.

Another fineliner doodle over a watercolor background

I made a graph to compare the audio frequency spectrum and octave numbers:
www.desmos.com/calculator/5...

This uses scientific pitch notation. In practice the labels might be 1 or 2 octaves off depending on your DAW and synth settings 🙃

This tree-like doodle reminds me of arthropod legs like insects or crustaceans.

Recently I tried making okonomiyaki! I didn't quite have the right ingredients, but it turned out great nevertheless!

On top of the watercolor cards, I doodled with fineliner and white gel pens.

This one made me think "ghosts, snakes, and ladders" so I leaned into that.

Got out the watercolor paints and painted some card backgrounds!

The other day I realized that doubling the tempo is making the rhythm go up in frequency by an octave.

I took this idea to the extreme in Renoise, making this horrific song that goes twice as fast every pattern or two.
