omg poirot thinks the killer is still on the train. impossible.

absolutely not

now, Toby Jones I have seen being sleazy in Doctor Who, so that works fine (he was not as horrible as his character in this one, though)
January 24, 2026 at 12:40 PM
oh, well, the train is fully booked. there is no room for Poirot on the Orient Express carrying people such as Princess Dragomiroff or Miss Debenham

also, I know Barbara Hershey from two radically different roles: the main character of "The Entity" and the far less sympathetic Cora from "Once Upon a Time"

Québec actor alert (Marie-Josée Croze)

the movie came out a few years after her death, and contains many words that she definitely did not write, like bitch

"if I'm the bottom, you're the top"

...your lyrics sound very different to my ears than they would have had to Christie

(I assume she did not write those lyrics)

the French title of the novel is "Les Vacances d'Hercule Poirot" (Hercule Poirot's Holiday). it's nice of Christie to write a book where he can relax and not have to work

never forget the time I chatted with friends about how I don't think any actually Belgian actor has portrayed Hercule Poirot in major productions, and then I suggested one Belgian actor: Jean-Claude Van Damme

the plague rats follow donovan around when he plays music. imagine how well it would work if it was emilie autumn playing instead

on the Criterion Channel. there is French text saying it was restored in 2012.

then the English translation...where it says it was restored in 2013.

I'm not even gonna comment on that one.

likely place for a gay festival
January 20, 2026 at 2:28 PM
It's on Tubi. It's a dubbed version, and the visual quality is BAD (not their fault. they don't do restorations, to my knowledge)
