Nice :)

I still laugh sometimes at random intervals remembering the horror one of the presenters of the “Terrible Lizards” podcast experienced upon being told that penguins counted as marine reptiles.

You’re not alone! With audiobooks I get bored at the pace and my brain clocks out. I can do podcasts (I crochet), but almost always only if there are at least two people talking so they are having a conversation. Single-presenter podcasts almost never work for me. Just how my brain works!

Ooh, exciting! I loved your dinosaur and mammal books and now you’re writing about my favourite animal group? Amazing! Definitely getting this :)

I used to work in a science institute and pretty much everyone there was a trained scientist AND a musician/dancer/artist/etc. Creative arts include science and scientists love to be creative.

I want to tear my hair out everytime someone tells me how wonderful it is that all of human knowledge is available online. I’ve even read a serious science book that was gushing about it. Obviously these people never do more than a surface google search!

Fascinating!

What I want is AI to do my housework for me so I can spend MORE time being creative. They want to take the fun part away from me.

DOING creative work is the good bit. And how can I be proud of an end product that isn’t even mine? Talk about sucking the fun out of everything.

It’s always weird seeing Americans talk about “the Left” because from the other side of the world it honestly looks like the two parties are “Right” and “even more Right”.

Yes! Always great to see. If there’s a choice between two similar products I pick the non-plastic packaging every time.

I’ve seen photos of the first ST conventions. Women, women women. They organised them, they ran them, they attended them.

Yes, that’s right. Kirk was bullied at Starfleet Academy for being a nerd! Can’t remember the name of the episode, but it’s the one where McCoy chases a white rabbit :)

Lovely! They’re such acrobatic little birds, I love them.

I would line up to buy a print edition of just about any of your life in history/worldbuilding series!

I have enjoyed Carola Dunn’s Daisy Dalrymple mysteries for light cosy reading.

And always check out what your local public library has available. Mine includes access to academic databases most locals don’t realise are available.
