Hand-tracked statistics, highlights and news from the CHL. Lots of coverage for draft-eligibles and NHL prospects with a slight #Canadiens bias. I track PIGS 🐷 (Production Independent Game Score)

Seventeen 1st-round picks, three 2nd-round picks, three soon-to-be 1st round picks (including the two players most likely to go 1st overall)

…and Ethan MacKenzie. Good on him for cracking this roster!
Is this the most talented Team Canada #WorldJuniors roster in the last 5 years?

The CHL draft-eligible scoring race as it stands halfway through the season.

Hurlbert remains a cut above the rest of the class. The Ruck twins have been on a heater with 35 points between them in their last 10 games

Klepov and Belchetz cooling off.

Rudolph and Preston are right below the cusp

It may be time to add this oft-forgotten Habs prospect back to your radar. Emmett Croteau has a 1.16 GAA and a 0.953 sv% in 6 starts for Dartmouth this season 👀

Will Scouch from the top rope with Mathis Preston at no. 1!

Before this ranking is factored in, Preston sat 12th in consolidated overall rankings with individual rankings as low as 31st overall. When Will likes a guy, he’s not afraid to stick his neck out for him.
Scouching's First 2026 Ranking is now available! Check out the writeup below:

Habs prospect Bryce Pickford wins it in OT, his 2nd goal of the game 🔥

He now has 22 goals and 40 points in 29 games.

He’s currently tied for the most goals in the WHL. As a defenseman.

He was not invited to Team Canada’s 🇨🇦 World Juniors camp

The tide appears to be turning on Gavin McKenna. Three major outlets have released updates rankings since Dec 1, each without McKenna in the top spot. Pronman has him as low as 4th.

Verhoeff, Lawrence and Stenberg now each have rankings at 1st overall

No real surprises here but interesting to note there there are currently 4 Canadian d-men (Lin, Carels, Rudolph, Villeneuve) expected to be picked in the second half of the lottery portion of the draft this year. Carson Carels is the lone invitee from this group

When you post your #SpotifyWrapped, you’re not just doing free advertising for a company that exploits artists, recruits for ICE, and invests in AI war machines.

You’re actively celebrating the fact that you’re being surveilled and participating in your own surveillance.

Maybe … don’t do that?

A lot of chatter recently about Gavin McKenna’s no. 1 overall placement being in jeopardy, but no one has been willing to formally rank anyone above him, until now.

Sportsnet’s Jason Bukala fires the first shot across the bow.

Blackwood’s gotta be on Team Canada right?

Couple of major trades in the OHL this week. Soo picked up solid draft eligible centre Colin Fitzgerald. Brantford continues to load up, adding Flyers first-rounder Jett Luchanko. After adding Ben Danford earlier, they now have 5 NHL first-round picks on the roster.

They may never lose again

Checking in with the top draft eligible CHL players production thus far and it’s rather underwhelming! Only one Canadian-born player above 1.3 pts/gp. At this point last year, there were 11.

Underwhelming starts for top players Roobroeck and Preston (not listed below) are especially notable.

The USNTDP took down Team CHL in Game 1 of the Prospect Challenge. USA’s Sammy Nelson and CAN’s Mathis Preston both put up 1G 1A but the real standout was US goaltender Brady Knowling who turned away 42 of 44 shots. Game 2 goes tonight

We are third of the way through the OHL season and Brantford has still yet to lose in regulation.
November 22, 2025 at 3:23 PM
As per OHL press release, commissioner Crawford has suspended Steelheads defender Luke Dragusica for the remainder of this season and playoffs for his vicious slash to the head of Generals’ Brady Blaseg.

Dragusica would be eligible to play next season, but hard to imagine there’ll be any takers.

Hockey Canada informed Matthew Schaefer on Wednesday night that he’s officially been added to Team Canada’s IOC long list of 90+ players. There’s a formal approval process for the list, and Hockey Canada received confirmation a few days ago.
