I’d be very surprised if he gets onto the ballot paper.

They are so holier-than-thou that they make exquisite targets for muckrakers.

Maybe an oenophile or wine merchant would use that construction, being used to saying that a wine “is drinking well now”.

Godwin’s Law has made its entrance.

That involves a completely subjective assessment of what is immoral/unjust. That is the way to chaos. There are many many laws that I think are crazy or unjust, but I believe that I have an obligation to obey them.

There are weeds growing unchecked all over areas for which Dublin’s local government is responsible. Good for the environment? Maybe, but I wonder what all the staff who used to control weeds are doing now?

The soft bigotry of low expectations?

And Jenny/Jennie invariably used to be short for Jennifer. Then there’s Jack (not being John); Charlie (not being Charles) ; Mollie (not being Mary) et cetera. Inverted snobbery?

Seems appropriate, given his bloodline.

That brings back memories: on television, her (4th) husband Johnnie tended to appear in a subservient role, looking a bit intimidated by her imperious manner. “As she grew older, she applied more and more make-up and wore vast chiffon ballgowns on screen.”
